When doing a Rat Exclusion for a roof, we keep the customer informed as to how we approach the problem. It is an education for them as to how this became a problem and explains how Rats have infested the attic. If you don’t find where Rats are coming into the attic, putting traps up there really only solves part of the problem.
In this particular scenario, the roof intersection was wide open allowing Rats to freely enter and leave the attic and get onto the roof (then travel up and down the trees along the side of the house, but that is another story…)
We use a variety of materials to fill and deter Rats, Mice and Squirrels from entering a once compromised section of a roof leading to the attic.
